Journal Policy

Peer Review Policy – Wahana Journal

The Wahana Journal applies a double-blind peer review policy to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published articles. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

1. Initial Screening

  • All submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the editorial board to ensure compliance with the journal’s scope, focus, and formatting guidelines.

  • Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before being sent for peer review.

  • Plagiarism checks are conducted using reliable software before further processing.

2. Peer Review Process

  • Each manuscript passing the initial screening is assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

  • The review process follows a double-blind system, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

    • Relevance to the journal’s scope

    • Originality and contribution to the field

    • Theoretical and methodological rigor

    • Clarity, coherence, and structure of writing

    • Accuracy and completeness of references

3. Review Outcomes

Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

  1. Accept without revision

  2. Accept with minor revisions

  3. Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)

  4. Reject

4. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and suggestions.

  • Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified time frame and will be re-evaluated by the reviewers or editors.

5. Final Decision

  • The final decision on acceptance or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers’ recommendations and editorial board evaluation.

  • Accepted articles will proceed to the copyediting and proofreading stages before publication.

6. Review Ethics

  • Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback.

  • Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed to the editorial team.

  • The journal upholds the principles of academic integrity and ethical publishing in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
